MARJORIE
DANIELS, of STZ’UMINUS First Nation, has requested me to contact you regarding
her claim to benefits of her father’s
[Baptiste Louie] estate at the log sort in Chemainus inner harbour.
Ms. Daniel’s possesses specific
AANDC verified benefit rights arising from her father’s estate; one of those
entitlements evidently being to continue to receive revenues from the
commercial use of the said inner harbour properties that continue to be used as
a log sort venue.
Our estimate of outstanding
revenues over a circa 10-year period since her father’s passing, is apparently $1-Million+/-; not including
interest.
Ms. Daniel’s requests your
assistance in these matters to resolve the payment forward to her of these
monies; and, to secure the future payments. We are informed by the Auditor
General’s Office that the matter of audit is secured at your offices.
Please, proceed – ASAP - to collect background information on
these matters, forthwith. Following which, you will assign an AANDC officer to
be assisting in resolving these outstanding benefit entitlements of MARJORIE
DANIELS. These matters are urgent, as Ms. Daniels requires revenues in order to
repair major renovations of her home.
